When I was 13 I started a micro business, running workshops for people to make their own natural cosmetics. The idea sparked because I couldn’t find anything natural for teenagers and I discovered skincare recipes that were fun to follow. The micro business became L’ocean Ltd in 2008 when I finally came up with a name that hadn’t been taken. After leaving school, I took a gap year to develop a range of natural skincare products and opened a shop in Devon.

When the shop lease ran out, it was an ideal time to re-evaluate and find a less complicated way to make a difference. The best thing I got out of the whole experience was realising I needed to aim high and simplify. I’ve always aimed high, it’s the simplifying part I’m working on. I’m applying it to my business and how I approach life.
