Exploring Robots at Build Brighton

These are images from our first Exploring Robots fundraiser for Build Brighton Makerspace. There was a great turnout and a buzzing atmosphere.

One of the robots is a pleo dinosaur. They squeal when you hold them by their tail and cuddling calms them down. They seem so realistic, it’s easy to forget they’re robots. Kids love it when they fall asleep, because they think the dinosaur likes them. There’s so much tech packed inside, for example a colour sensor detects green, so when you waggle a leaf under it’s nose, it makes chomping noises. These are second hand Pleos from eBay, so I took the cover off one to see the tech inside.
